Teleprompter for Android.
Open it in Chrome on any Android phone or tablet. Nothing from the Play Store, nothing to sign up for. Install it to your home screen and it works offline.
Free plan · No download · No account · Nothing uploaded
ScrollCue is a free Android teleprompter that runs in Chrome with no Play Store download. It installs to the home screen as a progressive web app and works offline. On Pro, an Android phone can act as a remote for a prompter on another device.
No Play Store, no permissions to grant in advance
Open it in Chrome and it runs. Chrome will usually offer to install it, and if you accept it launches from the home screen full screen and works with no connection. Which is the entire benefit of a native app, without the native app.
Free on Android
- Smooth scroll, presets, and a fine speed slider
- Script markup, sections, and presenter notes
- Mirror mode for glass rigs
- Cue line, red dim, and full theming
- Wake lock, so the screen stays on
- Installs to the home screen and runs offline
Pro on Android
- Use the phone as a remote for a prompter running elsewhere
- Voice Follow
- Recording with the camera behind the script
- Join an event as a prompter or a confidence monitor
Samsung, Pixel, and everything else
Because this runs in Chrome rather than in a device-specific app, the manufacturer does not really matter. Samsung, Pixel, OnePlus, Motorola, an old tablet in a drawer. If Chrome runs on it, ScrollCue runs on it, and it looks the same on all of them.
This is also why it works on an Amazon Fire tablet, which has no Play Store and therefore cannot install most teleprompter apps at all.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a free teleprompter for Android?
Yes. ScrollCue runs in Chrome with no Play Store download and no account.
Can I install it?
Yes. Chrome will usually offer an install prompt. It then launches from the home screen full screen and the prompter works offline.
Does it work on a Fire tablet?
Yes, and this is one of the better reasons to use it there. Fire tablets have no Play Store, so most teleprompter apps cannot be installed at all, but a browser is a browser.
Can my Android phone act as a remote?
Yes, on Pro. Pair it to a prompter on another device and it becomes a handheld remote.
