ScrollCue can open a chromeless output window rendering only the scrolling text over a chroma key green, blue, or black background. Add it to OBS as a window capture, apply a colour key filter, and the script overlays your scene. It follows script pushes and transport like any other paired device.
What it actually is
A second window with no toolbar, no controls, no chrome of any kind. Just the script scrolling on a flat colour. Choose green, blue, or black depending on what your scene and your clothing can tolerate, then capture that window in OBS and key the colour out.
The result is your script sitting over the top of whatever you are streaming, visible to you on your monitor and, if you want it there, visible to the audience too. Most people key it into a preview scene only, so it exists on their screen and not on the stream.
Setting it up

Open the OBS output window from ScrollCue
Pick your key colour. Green is the default and works for most people. If you are wearing green, use blue.

Add it in OBS as a Window Capture
Select the ScrollCue output window from the list. It will appear in your scene as a solid block of colour with your text on it.

Add a Chroma Key filter to the source
Right click the source, go to Filters, add Chroma Key, and set the key colour to match. Nudge similarity until the background disappears cleanly and the text edges stay sharp.

Position it where it will not fight your overlays
Directly under the webcam is usually right, since that is where you want your eyes. Keep it clear of lower thirds and chat.
It behaves like every other device
The output window is a first-class member of the show. It follows script pushes from Studio and obeys transport, so if you are running Event Mode your OBS overlay starts, stops, and stays in position along with everything else. You do not have to drive it separately.
Frequently asked questions
How do I add a teleprompter to OBS?
Open the ScrollCue OBS output window, add it in OBS as a Window Capture, then apply a Chroma Key filter to that source and set the key colour to match. The background drops out and the text is left over your scene.
What colours can I key out?
Green, blue, or black. Green is the usual choice. Switch to blue if you are wearing green, and black if your scene has no dark areas that would be eaten by the key.
Will my viewers see the script?
Only if you put the keyed source in a scene you are streaming. Most people key it into a preview or a separate display so it is visible on their monitor and not on the broadcast.
Does the OBS output follow Studio in Event Mode?
Yes. It receives script pushes and follows transport exactly like any other paired device.
