Quick answer

ScrollCue Event Mode connects up to ten teleprompters, confidence monitors, and phone remotes to a single Studio device. Pairing is by QR code and the connection is peer to peer, so no script or video passes through a server and no account is required. Event Mode is a Pro feature.

Four roles, one show

Every device that joins picks a role. That is the whole mental model, and once you have it the rest is obvious.

Studio

The control room. Studio holds the script, pushes it to every connected device, drives play, pause, and stop across all teleprompters at once, sends cues, runs the countdown, sets the branding, and streams a camera or screen share to the monitors.

Teleprompter

What the speaker reads from. Up to ten of them at once, which covers a panel, a multi-camera setup, or a stage where you want a prompter at each mark. Each one receives the script and follows Studio's transport.

Confidence Monitor

A broadcast-style monitor for the front of stage. It shows a live script strip that follows whoever is currently driving, a big red countdown, a bordered cue band, and Studio's video feed behind it all. Landscape optimised, because that is how it will be mounted.

More on confidence monitors

Remote Scroller

A phone becomes a handheld remote. Transport, speed, and section jumps, from anywhere in the room. You can also pair a phone one-to-one with your own prompter without setting up a whole event, which is what most solo creators actually want.

Pairing takes about ten seconds

  1. 1

    Studio shows a QR code

Or a share link, if the other device is not in the room. Either works.

  2. 2

The guest device scans it and picks a role

Teleprompter, confidence monitor, or remote. The guest can also start the pairing from their side and have Studio scan them, if that is easier in your room.

  3. 3

A short answer code goes back the other way

That completes the handshake. Browser tabs on the same computer skip this entirely and just connect.

  4. 4

    Studio pushes the script

One tap and every connected device has it. Branding, colours, and the countdown go with it.

What Studio can do once you are connected

Transport for everyone at once

Play, pause, and stop every teleprompter in the room from one place. Nobody has to be told to hit play.

Live cues

Nine presets, including Stand by, On air, 30 seconds, and Wrap it up, each with a clear icon. Plus free text if you need to tell the presenter something specific.

A countdown that agrees with itself

The clock is drift-corrected across every device, so the monitor at the back of the room and the tablet on stage show the same number. Set anything from seconds to hours.

Video to the monitors

Studio streams its camera or a screen share to confidence monitors, and you can switch between the two mid-show without anyone reconnecting.

Branding across every screen

Logo, organisation name, and colours theme every connected device, with automatic contrast so the text stays readable whatever colour you pick.

Late joiners catch up on their own

A device that connects mid-show immediately gets the script, the timer, the branding, and the current scroll position. No scrambling.

Links repair themselves

Heartbeats spot a dropped device within seconds and show a reconnect banner with a one-tap retry. Wi-Fi in venues is what it is, so this is built in rather than hoped for.

Why serverless matters here

Most multi-device prompters route everything through their own servers, which means your unreleased keynote, your sermon, or your earnings script passes through a company you have never met. ScrollCue devices connect directly to each other. There is no relay, no cloud copy, and no account, so there is nothing sitting on a server anywhere with your words in it.

It also means setup does not depend on us being up. If the two devices can see each other, the show runs.

Pro feature

Event Mode is included in the Day Pass at $4.99 for 24 hours, or the annual plan at $99.

Frequently asked questions

How many devices can connect at once?

Up to ten teleprompters, plus confidence monitors and a remote. One device acts as Studio and drives all of them.

Does Event Mode need Wi-Fi or an account?

It needs the devices to be able to reach each other, but there is no account and no server holding your script. Devices pair by QR code or share link and then talk directly. Browser tabs on the same computer connect with no setup at all.

What happens if a device drops out mid-show?

Heartbeats detect it within seconds and the device shows a reconnect banner with a one-tap retry. When it comes back, it receives the script, the timer, the branding, and the current scroll position automatically.

Can someone join halfway through?

Yes. Late joiners sync instantly. They get the script, the current countdown, the branding, and the exact scroll position everyone else is at.

Do I need Event Mode to use a phone as a remote?

No. There is a one-to-one solo remote for exactly this. Pair your phone to your own prompter without setting up a full event.
