Voice Follow — the script keeps up with you.
Speech recognition matches what you are saying against the script and moves the stage to wherever you have got to. Pause and it stops with you. Skip ahead a sentence and it catches up.
Free plan · No download · No account · Nothing uploaded
ScrollCue Voice Follow uses speech recognition to fuzzy-match your spoken words against the script and glide the text to your actual position. It moves only while you speak and tolerates accents, typos, and skipped lines. Voice Follow is a Pro feature and audio is processed on-device.
Your voice sets the pace, not a number you guessed earlier
Every fixed-speed prompter asks you to predict, before you start, exactly how fast you will talk. Nobody is good at this. You end up either racing the text or waiting for it, and both are visible on camera because your eyes start hunting.
Voice Follow removes the guess. It listens, works out where in the script you actually are, and moves the stage to meet you.
It is tolerant on purpose
- Fuzzy matching, so an accent, a mumble, or a word swapped on the fly does not derail it.
- Skip a sentence and it finds you rather than sitting where you left it.
- It glides to the new position instead of jumping, so the movement is not distracting.
- A mic indicator glows while it is locked onto your voice, so you can see it is working.
It moves only while you speak
- Stop talking and the script stops with you. Pause for effect and it waits.
- Take a breath, answer a question, laugh at something. Nothing scrolls away underneath you.
- Your hands never touch the speed control, which means they are still and your eyes stay on the lens.
Where the audio goes
Nowhere. Speech recognition runs in your browser on your device. Your microphone audio is not sent to us or to anyone else, and there is no recording of it kept.
When to use smooth scroll instead
Voice Follow is what you want when you are recording or presenting live. Smooth scroll is better for rehearsal, for anything with a fixed runtime you are trying to hit, and for a script you want to read at exactly the same pace on every take. A lot of people rehearse on one and shoot on the other.
Frequently asked questions
What is Voice Follow?
It listens through your microphone, matches what you are saying against the script, and glides the text to wherever you actually are. It only moves while you speak.
Is Voice Follow free?
No. Voice Follow is a Pro feature, included in the $4.99 day pass and the $99 annual plan.
Does Voice Follow send my audio anywhere?
No. Speech recognition runs in your browser on your device. The audio is not transmitted and not stored.
What if I skip a line or change a word?
It uses fuzzy matching, so a swapped word or a stumble will not throw it. If you skip ahead a sentence it catches up rather than waiting where you left it.
Will an accent break it?
It is built to tolerate accents and imperfect matches rather than demanding you say the script exactly as written. That tolerance is the point.
