ScrollCue gives live control over font, size, line height, and column width. As a starting point, use around 48 to 56 px at arm's length, 60 to 72 px for a pulpit stand, and the largest size that still fits five to eight words per line. Narrower columns reduce visible eye movement.
Adjust it while you can still see the stage
The display controls live in a side panel rather than a modal, so the script stays visible while you change things. When you drag a slider the panel itself fades almost to nothing, which means you are looking at the actual result rather than at a control obscuring it. Small thing, but it is the difference between guessing and seeing.
Sizes that actually work, by distance
Phone at arm's length, roughly 40cm
44 to 52 px, column around 70 to 80%.
Tablet on a desk, roughly 60cm
48 to 56 px, column around 65 to 75%.
Laptop on a stand, roughly 70cm
52 to 60 px, column around 60 to 70%.
Tablet on a pulpit stand, roughly a metre
60 to 72 px, column around 55 to 65%.
Floor confidence monitor, roughly two metres

Column width matters as much as size
A wide column drags your eye a long way left to right on every single line, and that horizontal travel is visible on camera as scanning. Narrow the column until each line holds about five to eight words and the movement mostly disappears. The script starts to feel like a vertical feed rather than something you are reading across.
The rough rule: pick the largest font that still gives you five to eight words per line at your chosen width. Start at 56 px and a 65% column, shoot thirty seconds, watch it back at normal size, and adjust once.

Why does column width matter?
